A Life on the Road (DP)

What do you think about this band? Even if you know something about "The Dead", forget about your preconceptions. Do some research about the band and its fans. Begin with Wikipedia, and find TWO more sources. Trust me, once you begin reading about this band, and watching the youtube videos, you'll notice they deserve lots of attention. Why is the band significant when we talk about finding an alternative path of culture? Does another alternative path exist? And if it does, do the "Deadheads" have it right? Why? Why not? Do your research. There's tons of information about this band online. Please copy your TWO other sources after your comment. I am giving points to people on the blog. Most importantly, you know i'm involved in the discussion. This post will go from Thursday until Saturday. I will post something new on Sunday morning. "...she wore scarlet begonias..."

  1. Well, lui I read about them in Wikipedia, read the lyrics and visit the official web site among other sources so it is significant because the band it self is an alternative path, the way you can sense the different tones of music and the way they improvise is amazing. So when you said and talk about the existence of alternative paths I believe they exist but not everybody can find one of the many, and the band got to find one. And if they have it right, in my opinion they do from their name, to their lyrics, to their music it self they got everything right to find an alternative path.

  2. lui ... I read about this band and they are based on free expression of the time and therefore it is possible to see an alternative path of culture as they were part of a generation that let drugs easily to manipulate moving many people, also I saw an interview in which Phil Lesh the bassist of the band, and the purpose he had with his bass was to make an allusion to the sound of dead. "Deadheads" were people who were always agree with the band,, in fact they were open minded until they let the brain off the head.... and that’s what makes them belong to the alternative path of culture.
