Classic Comics Go NOIR (Lang. B)

As most of you might know, I'm an avid comic book fan. I love the art, the stories, the symbolism. Two of my favorite charactes, Wolverine and Daredevil have left their stamp, not only in the print editions of the comics, but also as action figures and big-screen movie stars. Wolverine intrigues because of his troubled past, ruthless attitude and awesome abilities. Daredevil is a blind man whose other senses are magnified a thousand-fold, and is capable of astonishing feats...therefore labeled as 'The Man Without Fear'. In recent months, Marvel has published a new series of comic books (daredevil: http://marvel.com/catalog/?id=11425 ; wolverine: http://marvel.com/catalog/?id=11550). They've been extremely successful, favorites among comic book lovers. Do they appeal to you? Why or why not? Do you see them as believable noir protagonists? Why or why not?

  5. Yes they some kind Appeal to me because the form of seeing things and showing expressions that may be some kind of symbolism of their personality. So that form of mentality, of perspective that they have of the reality is shown in a way that their defects always are going to be present in all their experiences.
Other that having unique powers, and abilities, these type of characters(Wolverine, Daredevil) are always going to be ¨noir¨characters, because the way the express is to direct and fearful. An example can be Wolverine, He really show how a ¨Tough Guy¨is, even thought is more secured and sure of himself because of his power.
The point is that characters like Wolverine, are going to experience the reality in a very ¨noir¨perspective and that's what orders indirectly to them to act in fearful and tough way.

  6. To me they do appeal to me because it shows me there is going to be a conflict during the story that will makje it much interesting. this also applies for noir fiction because the characters feelings, expretions or the way they are can be very usefull to distinguish the noir fiction by showing the different ways the character acts or how their personality develops the plot or main conflict during the story.

  7. It is important to identify these two characteres, I think that these characters are represented in a good way the noir fiction.
the way that they are described in the comics is a good example of noir fiction.

  11. Is not to find a fight, I think that the end of this blog was to discuss in a pacific way all the ideas about noir fiction, about hard boiled, not to irrespect the people with words like stupid...
what I want to said is that I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT I want to talk about this topic not to talk about who comment first!!!!!!
